Community Tradition
For twenty years, families, neighbors, alumni and first-time visitors have gathered each fall to celebrate community in Chicago's Ukrainian Village.
The St. Helen Carnival began in 2006 as a school fundraiser and quickly grew into something bigger — a beloved neighborhood tradition where children race toward the rides with tickets in hand, old friends reconnect, and grandparents share stories of Carnivals past.
Behind the lights are hundreds of volunteers, families and neighbors who show up year after year to make the Carnival possible. Local businesses lend their support. Alumni return with their own children. And every fall, the same corner of Ukrainian Village transforms into four days of music, food and celebration.
The Carnival is open to everyone. Whether this is your twentieth year or your very first, you are invited to be part of the tradition.
